Rare VERITAS Pocket-Size Multi-Tool w/5 functions. All Steel. Made In Germany.

Description

Quite rare, pocket-sized multi-tool made by VERITAS of Germany. Chrome steel, just over 3 inches long.
Screw threaded case becomes the handle for the bits inside. Slotted bits fit the slot on the side of the handle to form a 90 degee, T shaped hand tool for each of 4 blades plus a set of tweezers. All 5 pieces fit neatly inside the handle. To convert just unscrew the case, select the tool bit and match its slot to the slot opening on the side of the case, screw the two case ends back together and you have it. Beautiful design, unusual item, in my research I didn't find any others like it. Pre-WW2.
The tube case is a little scuffed from wear but still very nice looking, sleek, feels great in the hand. Marked, "VERITAS P.N.F. N-Y." Made in Germany.
The tools inside include flat blade screwdriver, drill bit, pilot hole bit, awl and tweezers. All are in excellent condition especially considering their age. I noticed a little of the chrome on the tweezers is corroded slightly at the tip, not bad.
The screw action is a little stiff in the middle of the turns. The case opens and closes fine and I don't think there's any damage but I did notice it. I cleaned them with a stiff nylon brush and added a drop of oil.
Great addition to your hand tools collection - also a functional and strong hand tool.
