Antique Vintage Spoke / Dowel / Rung Pointer Chair / Furniture Makers Tool

Description

For sale is a dowel maker.  I am not sure exactly what this tool is used for.  It has a 3/4" opening on the bottom and the stem at the top looks to be adjustable up and down.  It is marked G. H. Stearns on the bottom and is untested.  Please view all photos for details.
